Given that there are over 60 million CT scans performed every year, accurate reporting is something most patients are unfamiliar with. Although the type of equipment used and scan technician skill are aspects of a successful scan, the knowledge, education and background of the interpreting physician is also a key factor in accurate diagnosis.
To ensure standard criteria are met, ICACTL (a non-profit) certifies facilities as fit to provide quality patient care through a comprehensive process including, in part, detailed case study reviews and on-site inspection.
Earlier this year (January 2012), the ICACTL (Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Computer Tomography Laboratories) granted ENT Memphis a term of accreditation for three years in the areas of Sinus and Temporal Bone CT.
These accreditations show that ENT Memphis has undergone a detailed review of the facilities operational and technical components by a team of experts. This “seal of approval” signifies that ENT Memphis, under the leadership of Dr. Rande Lazar, has been methodically critiqued on all relevant aspects of its operations.
Should you need a CT scan, please consider an entire process established to result in an accurate treatment plan. Of course, given ICACTL’s proven standards, we encourage you to find providers and facilities that are ICACTL accredited.
